Preparing for your
Individualized Family Services Plan Meeting (IFSP)

What is an Individualized Family Services Plan?

The term “IFSP” refers to both a written plan and the meeting used to determine what early intervention services an infant or toddler (birth to 36 months) who are at risk of having developmental disabilities or who have a developmental delay will receive. In California, Regional Centers are responsible for providing services to the developmentally disabled. Early Intervention Services must meet the child’s developmental needs and be provided by qualified personnel in the child’s natural environment. Before an IFSP meeting will be held, the child must qualify for regional center services.

Goals of the Seminar

To help parents whose children are regional center clients understand California's Lanterman Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Parents will learn about early intervention services and how to navigate effectively though the process of getting these services at an Individualized Family Services Plan Meeting.
