TACA holds monthly meetings in many locations throughout the United States that feature educational speakers on important topics and allow family members to connect with one another and stay on top of the latest information in the autism world. Each TACA group maintains a resource library of the latest autism books and DVDs/CDs that can be checked out by members at no charge.

| September 14 | Treating Speech and Language Delays |
Speaker: Brenda Insalaco, speech language pathologist Brenda Insalaco, speech language pathologist, will discuss speech and language interventions for children on the autism spectrum, including the PROMPT method; techniques for getting and maintaining joint attention; and ideas for building social-pragmatic language. There will be plenty of time for discussion; please bring your questions. Brenda has worked with children with speech and language disorders for more than 30 years, including 20 years conducting evaluations and providing speech language therapy to children in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. She has conducted trainings for daycare providers, preschool teachers, and students attending Anne Arundel Community College and is currently in private practice, specializing in young children with oral motor dysfunction, articulation disorders, delayed language, and social communication difficulties. Time: 7 – 9pm |
