TACA holds monthly meetings in many locations throughout the United States that feature educational speakers on important topics and allow family members to connect with one another and stay on top of the latest information in the autism world. Each TACA group maintains a resource library of the latest autism books and DVDs/CDs that can be checked out by members at no charge.

Our Washington team offers monthly meetings at Bates Technical College (South Campus) in Tacoma providing support opportunities for families throughout the Puget Sound community. Meeting times are updated regularly - please check back for updates.

Research Updates & Sleep and Autism

Dr. Chapman is currently involved in clinical research on autism as a condition of oxidative stress. Specifically, she is studying glutathione replacement therapies in autistic children. She is also collecting preliminary data on Vitamin D levels in families of children with autism.

Dr. Chapman provides integrative healthcare in Portland, Oregon. She has a special focus in pediatric developmental disorders and utilizes both natural and conventional therapies in the treatment of Autism, Asperger syndrome, sensory integration disorders and ADHD.

April 17 Lisa Hardebeck, PhD

Balancing Relationships & Marriage While Parenting Children with Autism

Dr. Hardebeck specializes in the neuropsychological and neurodevelopmental assessment of children and adolescents and conducts ongoing counseling and treatment of a wide variety of mental health issues, for children and adults including marriage/relationship counseling. This lecture is for parents of children with autism.

Using a Defeat Autism Now! Approach

Ms. Andersen graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa and worked as a Registered Nurse for 7 years before pursuing a Master's in Nursing degree from the University of Washington. She then worked in geriatrics/internal medicine at Group Health Cooperative before beginning private practice in 1999.
